Tactical Shotgun

Tactical Shotgun is an instructor-led, in-person training course designed to build real defensive capability with the shotgun. This course goes beyond basic shooting to focus on recoil management, patterning, efficient loading, and keeping the shotgun running under realistic conditions. Through structured classroom instruction and hands-on live-fire drills, students learn how to set up their shotgun properly, manage ammunition, clear common stoppages, and apply the shotgun responsibly for defensive and home-protection roles. This course is ideal for new and experienced shotgun owners seeking practical, safety-focused training they can trust.

Course Breakdown

Duration: Full-day course (typical)

Classroom Components (short + focused):

• Safety brief, medical plan, and range commands

• Shotgun setup checks and fitment (stock length, sling, ammo carriers)

• Patterning theory and ammo selection guidance

Range Time (majority of the course):

• Patterning block (buckshot at multiple distances)

• Recoil control + cadence drills

• Loading blocks (top-off, emergency loads, efficiency reps)

• Stoppage clearance drills

• Integrated “keep it running” evolutions (shoot + load + solve)

Round Count:
Varies by shotgun type and drill pacing (posted per scheduled class)
(Expect a mix of birdshot/buckshot, with optional slugs as the course plan allows.)

Gear Requirements:

• Shotgun (pump or semi-auto) in safe working condition

• Eye & ear protection

• Shotgun ammo (mix per course guidance)

• Ammunition carrier (side saddle, cards, belt caddies—recommended)

• Sling (recommended)

• Hydration, weather-appropriate clothing, sturdy footwear
